Craig, didn't you say you were friends with Conor Daily? He was doing pretty well before the crash, second on a technical track like Monaco is pretty darn good for an American.

What's the analysis of that? Too aggressive in trying to pass? Too much blocking?

Too much blocking, you've gotta pick a line going into the corner and stick with it. The lead driver clearly started on the standard racing line, then tried to cover the inside too late - he should have just stuck to the inside line and made Daly take the long way around (which I've yet to see work at Monaco).

The red car was driving with his mirrors. You're allowed one move to block. If he goes right, you can go right, but if then switches left you are not allowed to block again on the same corner. Red car made three moves. In the end he was excluded from the results. Look closely and you'll see the red car has no rear wing. It came off earlier when he previously tried blocking more than 1 move and hit donors front wing. Without the wing he couldn't brake deep into a corner and braked really early for that turn. Conor wasn't expecting it and got wheel to wheel contact. The red car had been shown a black and orange flag requiring him to return to pits for mechanical problems. He refused and ended up being excluded from the results of the race. Conor had placed first in the race a few weeks earlier and was hoping for another good placing. He even got to test drive the force india f1 car after his win.

That's awesome, any idea how the test went? It's a big accomplishment just to get a test drive in an F1, even if it is "just" Force India. It'd be great to see an American in an F1 car again, and he seems like he has the talent to do something with it.

It went well. It was just a straight line aero test, but still. To be asked to be the driver for that test (skipping over gp2) is pretty sweet.

Here's the entire Barcelona race he won a few weekends ago:
